At 200 years old, the Bramley apple is the quintessential English Apple. It used to have the nickname “The King of Covent Garden”. These apples are a vital ingredient in a variety of our products but especially in our Apple & Cider Brandy Chutney and our Apple & Cider Brandy Sauce. As with all our ingredients, we believe the best quality yields the best taste.

Our apple supplier is a family run business with over 100 acres of orchards situated in Kent. They have been growing apples for over 15 years and are dedicated to producing the best apples they can.

They plant the trees in rows with a different apple tree every fifth tree to help pollination. Bramleys, like lots of apple trees, can’t pollinate themselves. Every fifth tree is either a Russett, a Greensleeves or a Crabapple which all blossom at different stages of the season. This makes sure that there is always a pollinator in bloom whenever the Bramleys come into blossom.

From whole apple to diced apple takes just 15 minutes and the apples are dispatched to us at Tracklements the same day so that they are as fresh as they can be to make our tracklements as delicious as possible.
