Gently Spiced Meatballs
   
 
for the meatballs:
  1 kg mince
50g bread crumbs
salt & pepper to taste
2 eggs - beaten
for the sauce:
  75g butter
1 large onion - chopped
1 clove garlic - crushed
2 tbsp flour 500ml stock (beef or vegetable)
6 dssrtsp Tracklements Curried Fruit Chutney

Pre heat oven to 350°C

Mix the mince, bread crumbs, salt and pepper and eggs together and form meatballs in whatever size you prefer. Then bake in a covered casserole dish for 35 minutes. Drain off any excess fat.

Meanwhile, melt the butter in a large pan and sauté the onion & garlic until soft. Add the flour, stirring constantly and cook for a further minute. Gradually add the boiling stock and whisk into a smooth texture. Pour over the meatballs and cook uncovered for 20-30 minutes, then add the chutney and return to the oven for 5 minutes. Serve with Basmati rice.
